Endless Hours of Playtime Fun
This craft if super easy and has endless creative options. Think of a nursery rhyme, popular cartoon show, or favorite zoo animals 🙂
The Supplies are simple:
- Colored Foam Sheets
- Hot Glue Gun
- Markers (I used Sharpies)
- Popsicle Sticks
- Accessories ie… eyes, feathers, ribbon, etc.
I had a great time making a few of these with the kiddos I nanny.
They all LOVE Old Mc Donald and so a Puppet Show was of course called for! We had a BrainStorm Board set up so the kids had a chance to help design what the animals would look like before we attempted to make them. (this was key after we failed multiple times in making an animal that didn’t quite look right…)
If you notice, the above picture of our collection of puppets has a giraffe, which is out of place for Old Mc Donald… but I love giraffes so much that it had to make an appearance on the farm 🙂 The sound it made was Chomp Chomp, as Giraffes have no audible sound like Cows and Sheep….. Fun Giraffe Fact for you Today!
After the collection was put together, the kiddos had a great time putting on their own Puppet Show!!
They spent countless hours playing with these puppets! The singing, animal noises and laughter were some of the cutest moments 🙂 I truly love the outcome of spending the time making a craft that brings such joy!
**Warning** if you are letting toddlers use them, the material does rip easily**
Whether it is a rainy day, cold outside, or you have the crafting itch, this project is simple and can be used in so many different ways!! Make something that is personal to you and your kiddos! Recreate some favorite book characters, or make a personalized puppet for all your family members…the possibilities are truly endless!
As always, Wine Pairs Wonderfully with Motherhood, and as I sit here enjoying my last glass of Table Red Wine, I am wondering what new Puppet for the Mc Donald Farm the kiddos will come up with next!
Until next time, keep on Crafting Like Crazy!
